Here is a series of tracks composed and released serially in late October, 2023. The 'Small Worlds' series is inspired by my son Alexis' wonderful macro photography, which captures the astonishing world of insects, arachnids, slime moulds, fungi, and all the other tiny creatures and miniature landscapes that can be found all around us, if only we take the time to look. Some of these scenes are a little more macabre than others, and this album collects my musical musings on a selection of 8 of them.

The tracks presented here are improvisations on a complex electronic setup organized around the hyper-expressive Osmose synthesizer, along with a variety of other synths and effects both analog and digital. While they have been mixed and edited after the fact, everything you hear was performed in real time, including all effects and other textural layers. They are ambient journeys, designed to set a creepy, unsettling atmosphere and above all to explore the dark and fascinating worlds the images capture and conjure for me!

The music leans heavily into the dark and strange, so not for everyone and if it's not your thing, I totally understand! But it was a fun project to put together, so if you're in the mood, well, enjoy!
